Fire Point, the Ukrainian defense company behind the Flamingo cruise missile program, has released footage of a successful test flight of its new FP-7.X interceptor missile.
The FP-7.X is being developed as the primary interceptor for the company’s FREYJA anti-ballistic missile defense system, which is being marketed as a cost-effective alternative to the U.S.-made Patriot.
Each interceptor is expected to cost less than $1 million.
According to company , the FP-7.X interceptor measures approximately 7.25 meters (24 feet) in length and is designed to achieve speeds approaching Mach 6.
