An industrial facility in Samara Region was targeted, local governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said

An industrial facility in Russia’s Samara Region was attacked by Ukrainian missiles, local governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said.

Emergency services have been deployed on site, Fedorishchev wrote in a Saturday morning post on Max.

The information regarding damage and casualties is currently being verified, he added.

In the Rostov Region, around 1,000 residents of seven villages were left without electricity after a Ukrainian drone damaged powerlines in the area, according to local governor Yury Slusar.

Around a dozen UAVs and three missiles were destroyed by air defenses in the region overnight, Slusar said. There have been no reports of injuries, he added.

Ukraine has several types of long-range missiles in their arsenal, including British-supplied Storm Shadow and homemade Flamingo munitions.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin wrote on Max that at least 16 incoming drones were shot down on the approach to the Russian capital during the night.

In the town of Shatura in Moscow Region, a UAV hit a private home, injuring a 9-year-old boy and a 55-year-old woman, local governor Vyacheslav Vorobyeb wrote on Telegram. The child was hospitalized in serious condition, he added.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that a total of 598 Ukrainian UAVs were shot down or intercepted by electronic warfare means above 20 of the country’s regions overnight.

Moscow has condemned Ukrainian drone strikes on Russia’s civilian infrastructure and residential areas as terrorist attacks aimed at compensating for Kiev’s setbacks on the battlefield, where Russian forces continue their steady advance.

Russia has responded by intensifying long-range missile and drone strikes against Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities and logistics infrastructure. Moscow maintains that it does not target civilians and that its strikes are directed solely at military targets and infrastructure supporting Kiev’s forces.

The Defense Ministry in Moscow said on Friday that a total of 14 such strikes had been launched over the previous week, hitting drone production plants, weapons, and logistics centers, as well as fuel, energy, and transport infrastructure. Military airfields and ports where cargo used by Kiev’s troops are unloaded and stored have also been targeted.

The Russian military also struck 15 oceangoing vessels operating in the interests of the Ukrainian military, including a tanker, seven dry cargo ships, two tugboats, and five patrol boats, it added.
