As part of Operation Midnight Hammer in June 2025, the U.S deployed B-2 Spirit bomber against Iran.
Reportedly, B-2s dropped 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOP), 30,000 lb bunker busters, on two different sites – 12 on Fordow and 2 on Natanz.
The strike was the largest B-2 operational strike in US history, as seven of these bombers, each with two crew members, flew 18 hours into Iran to drop the bunker-buster munitions. It was also the second-longest B-2 mission ever flown.
Satellite imagery captured days before strike showed that B-2 Spirit bombers were shifted to Diego Garcia.
While US military has currently amassed a large force in the region including F-22 Raptors, there is no credible report of B-2s being directed to the region.
In this video, Defense Updates analyzes why no B-2 Spirt has been shifted near Iran till now ?
