Last month, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth extended the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) in the Middle East, while USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) was also assigned to US Central Command or CENTCOM.
Truman departed Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia at the end of September and participated in NATO exercises in the North Sea before sailing to the Eastern Mediterranean, then moved to the Middle East.
Carl Vinson, which was operating in the East China Sea, was redirected to the Middle East.
Both are now actively participating in operations aimed at thwarting the Houthi menace.
