The Pentagon has stated that USS Carney (DDG-64) had brought down 4 cruise missiles and 14 drones fired from Yemen most likely by the Houthis
The Houthi movement colloquially simply Houthis is an Islamist political and armed organization that emerged from the Yemeni governorate of Saada in the 1990s.
Houthi rebels in Yemen have previously expressed an interest in combatting Israel, and they have reasserted this desire during 2021 conflict between Israel and Hamas.
While undisclosed, USS Carney likely fired SM-2 missiles to intercepts the hostile threats.
