Israel has launched Operation Rising Lion, striking deep into Iran.
Reports suggest two hundred planes dropped 330 munitions and numerous high-value targets have been hit.
Many top personnel have been targeted including IRGC Commander in Chief – Hossein Salami, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters – Gholamali Rashid , Secretary General of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council – Ali Akbar Ahmadian , former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran – Fereydoun Abbasi , nuclear scientist -Abdolhamid Minouchehr and physicist- Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
Several key complexes including Natanz & Parchin nuclear facilities as well as ballistic missile manufacturing site have been hit.
Prime Minister of Israel , Benjamin Netanyahu has declared the operation far from over, stating that it will last as many days as it takes.
This development, comes amidst longstanding tensions centered around Iran’s nuclear program.
The Board of Governors of the United Nations nuclear watchdog – International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has passed a resolution stating that Iran is not meeting its obligations under international nuclear safeguards. A central concern is Iran’s ongoing failure to offer credible explanations for uranium traces found at undeclared locations.

Israel and Iran have been adversaries for decades, with Israel viewing Iran’s nuclear ambitions as an existential threat. Iran, conversely, sees Israel as a regional adversary supported by Western powers.
Given Iran’s geographical distance—approximately 900 km or 560 miles at the closest point, with many military and nuclear sites deeper within the country—Israel will have to use its long-range strike options which can penetrate Iranian air defense systems.
