AIIA ACT Branch is privileged to host a presentation by the Foreign Minister of Mongolia, HE Ms Battsetseg Batmunkh. Ms Battsetseg is paying her first visit to Australia as Foreign Minister and, in her only public engagement in Canberra, will provide an insight into landlocked Mongolia’s multifaceted foreign policy, with a key focus on its approach towards Northeast Asia. Over the last twenty years, Mongolia has demonstrated a firm commitment to UN peacekeeping and has pledged to increase Mongolian female peacekeepers by 15 per cent by 2027.

Mongolia has an internationally recognized nuclear-weapon free zone status. The country has promoted the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula through its Ulaanbaatar Dialogue which serves as a confidence-building measure to bring together other stakeholders.
