India has taken a significant leap toward advancing its aerial capabilities.
On December 15, India joined an exclusive group of nations possessing ‘flying wing’ technology. The successful test of the Autonomous Flying Wing Technology (AFWT) Demonstrator in this advanced form marked a noteworthy milestone.
Representing a scaled-down variant of a futuristic unmanned combat aerial vehicle, the AFWT Demonstrator underwent a crucial flight trial conducted by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) under the Ministry of Defense.
This high-speed flying wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, developed locally, took to the skies at the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga, located in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.
The December 15th test represented the seventh iteration of trials for the tail-less configuration of the UAV, showcasing India’s advancements in cutting-edge aerial technology.
