India is all set to begin the export of ground launched BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to the Philippines
India’s Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Chairman Dr. Samir V Kamat revealed that first set of BrahMos missile systems is expected to reach the Philippines by the end of March.
The deal, valued at USD 375 million, marks DRDO’s largest-ever defence contract with a foreign nation and the first ever export for BrahMos.
The Philippines is supposed get three batteries of the supersonic missile system.
Each battery comprises two missile launchers, a radar and a command-and-control centre, and can fire two missiles within 10 seconds.
