Situation is becoming tense in the Middle East in anticipation of a new round of clashes.
The Pentagon said the U.S. is shifting more troops and other military assets to the Middle East to defend Israel and American forces against what is expected to be a complex attack by Iran and its proxies.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the USS Abraham Lincoln, which is currently operating in the Pacific, and its destroyer escorts to the region along with an additional squadron of fighter planes.
The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group will be deployed to the Middle East, replacing the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group currently stationed in the Gulf of Oman and scheduled to return home later this summer. This move indicates that the Pentagon intends to maintain a continuous carrier presence in the region as a deterrent against Iran and for the protection of Israel.
In this video, Defense Updates analyzes how USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group can help defend Israel ?
