Elevating the perspectives of traditionally marginalised groups, including through considering intersectionality, is a growing area of interest in the field of international affairs. The concept of intersectionality refers to the way in which overlapping elements of an individual’s identity such as gender, race and age collectively impact, whether for the better or worse, their experiences and perspectives.
