Türkiye’s indigenously designed and produced combat drone, the Bayraktar TB3, has cleared another major milestone during trials aboard the short-runway carrier TCG Anadolu, completing over 100 sorties to date.
Baykar, the platform’s manufacturer, announced that the TB3 has become the world’s first UCAV capable of fully autonomous takeoff and landing from a short-runway naval vessel.
During recent tests, the drone successfully demonstrated critical capabilities, including visual line tracking, carrier detection, runway recognition, and landing angle estimation using ground vision technology—all essential for reliable shipborne operations.
