After over a year of appeals to the Biden Administration, it appears that President Zelensky’s request is being fulfilled. The United States appears poised to send MGM-140 ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
During a recent meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, President Joe Biden reportedly assured Kyiv of their long-standing request for the Army Tactical Missile System, known as ATACMS.
This was first reported by US broadcaster NBC News.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy did not answer directly when asked about the NBC reports on ATACMS, but he noted that the US was the biggest single supplier of weaponry to Ukraine.
Many details regarding Washington’s commitment to ATACMS remain unclear. The Biden administration has not publicly disclosed the timing of missile delivery or the quantity it intends to supply.
However, reports indicate that the system will soon be in Ukrainian hands.
