On 2 April, an Israeli strike killed a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commander Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, in an embassy annex in Damascus, Syria. His deputy and 5 others were also killed.
Most geo-strategic experts agreed that Tehran would have to respond, the open questions were – when, where, and how.
The answers have come.
Iran has now launched an attack with a combination of drones, and ballistic and cruise missiles.
Many of these incoming threats have been intercepted by Israeli air defense systems including the Iron Dome, and Arrow.
Some explosions have been heard in Israel and casualties can’t be ruled out, this is a developing story.
While there are reports that the US has asked Netanyahu to maintain restraint, there is every possibility that Israel will strike back.
The distance between Iran and Israel is about 1000 miles or 1600 km and Israel has limited but potent options.
