Israeli military has sorrounded Gaza City from several directions. IDF chief of staff says that Israeli soldiers are now operating inside Gaza City. An all-out operation against Hamas is underway.
Iran, which supports Hamas financially and militarily, has hailed the militant group’s attack on Israel as a "success" but denied any involvement.
But as Israel moves into Gaza and attempts to systematically dismember Hamas, there is the possibility that Iran may not sit idle.
Hezbollah – the Lebanese militant organization, supported by Iran has already launched several attacks on Israel.
Iran’s foreign ministry has earlier threatened Israel as well as the U.S.
Hossein Amirabdollahian warned that if Israel’s ongoing retaliation doesn’t end then the "United States will not be spared from this fire."
Technically, Iran is itself playing with fire and could regret it big time if the United States is pushed and responds militarily.
