U.S. will send a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system and additional Patriot air defense missile system battalions to the Middle East.
Iran and its proxy have threatened to attack Israel.

PATRIOT has the ability to defend against cruise and ballistic missiles, drones as a well as different types of aircraft.
THAAD is a ballistic missile defense system and One of the best in its class.
