Israel is counting its dead and is now on the offensive.
It is hitting Hamas hideouts in Gaza.
Hamas’s attack has taken the Israeli security establishment by surprise.
Another aspect to note here is that the performance of the famed Iron Dome system has not been up to the mark.
Footages show that Iron Dome batteries fire missiles indiscriminately in different directions without positive impact and it is not hard to decipher that the system is having much higher failure rate compared to past engagements.
