Several vehicles carrying supplies to Kiev’s forces were destroyed in Donbass, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said

Russian drone operators have destroyed several Ukrainian military vehicles carrying supplies to frontline positions in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to the Defense Ministry in Moscow.

Footage released by the ministry on Tuesday shows FPV drones striking moving and stationary pickup trucks.

The vehicles were spotted by Russian drone operators while carrying supplies to Ukrainian positions, the ministry said.

It titled the video ‘The true pickup masters,’ in a nod to pickup artist culture. “The result of the ‘date’: several Ukrainian military vehicles aren’t going anywhere, and the resupply of their positions has been completely disrupted,” the Defense Ministry joked.

Light vehicles such as pickup trucks are extensively used to transport ammunition, supplies and personnel near the front, where larger and slower vehicles are particularly vulnerable to drones.

The strikes took place in the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, a heavily fortified Ukrainian-held area in the northwest of the DPR and a key hub for Kiev’s forces in Donbass.

Russian forces have been advancing toward the area. Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov said in late August that Russian troops had breached parts of the first Ukrainian defensive line there, with forces operating within several kilometers of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.

Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry said its forces had encircled Ukrainian troops near the strategic settlement of Dobropolye. According to Moscow, further advances there could put additional pressure on Ukrainian supply and reinforcement routes.
