The country is advancing in innovation to secure its future and strengthen its sovereignty, the Russian president has said

Russia has received innovation cooperation proposals from some 30 countries, including nations in Europe, North America, and the Middle East, President Vladimir Putin has said.

The Russian leader made the remarks on Friday at a plenary session of the Strong Ideas for a New Era forum in Nizhny Novgorod. The annual event is organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), a government-backed nonprofit focused on promoting innovation, and it marks its 15th anniversary this year.

The forum brings together business leaders, experts, NGOs, and government officials to develop and discuss projects in economic, technological, and social development.

“Your ideas must continue to be a truly creative response to the challenges of the new era. We are creating this for future generations, creating it together for strengthening sovereignty, and fighting for the present and future of Russia through our practical efforts aimed at improving the well-being of our citizens. Russia is strong – and will remain strong in the future,” Putin told the session.

The president said the agency has received innovative proposals from across Russia as well as abroad, with the most promising projects to be submitted to the government for further consideration.

“We’ve received proposals not only from all constituent entities of Russia but also from some 30 foreign countries, including from Europe, North America, the Middle East, and other regions of the world,” Putin stated.

He said the projects could open up new opportunities for Russian industries and regions while expanding international cooperation.
