A key bridge leading to Danube ports was reportedly hit as Moscow unleashed a missile and drone barrage on the region overnight
Russian forces struck port infrastructure in Odessa and the nearby city of Chernomorsk overnight from Saturday to Sunday, hitting fuel depots and a cargo-transshipment complex used to supply Ukraine’s military, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said that it continues attacking Ukraine’s military-related port infrastructure and vessels, saying that the high-precision and drone strikes overnight hit fuel dumps and warehouses in Odessa’s port, as well as similar depots in Chernomorsk.
Fuel reservoirs used by Ukraine’s armed forces were also struck near the villages of Belyary and Novye Belyary, some 27km northeast of the port in Odessa, it added.
Ukraine’s Air Force said the overnight assault on the Odessa region involved a number of Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, Onyx anti-ship missiles, and Kh-31P anti-radar missiles, alongside 202 drones.
It claimed to have downed 174 drones and five loitering munitions, but did not report any missile interceptions. The apparent failure to down any of the Russian projectiles comes as Ukraine experiences persistent shortages of Patriot air-defense supplies.

Odessa Governor Oleg Kiper claimed that at least eight people were injured in the attack, adding that the strikes damaged infrastructure and residential buildings in the region.
Local media also reported widespread power and water outages in Odessa, with electric transport – trams and trolleybuses – suspended following the strikes. The attack also reportedly damaged a key road bridge over the Dniester near the town of Mayaky, some 30km west of Odessa, which carries traffic to and from Ukraine’s Danube ports. Unverified footage circulating online showed long queues of vehicles in the area.
Russia has been striking Ukraine’s defense-related facilities as retaliation for Kiev’s long-range attacks inside Russia, which often target critical infrastructure and residential areas. Russia maintains it never targets civilians.
