US Army is going big on small drones.
Recently, the service announced an audacious industrial and operational goal: field at least one million small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) within the next two to three years.
This isn’t a single new airframe or a one-off procurement: it’s an attempt to reshape how the US Army designs, prototypes, manufactures, fields, and sustains vast numbers of expendable and reusable aerial systems. The pilot program at the center of that effort is SkyFoundry — a combined government/industry approach to rapid, high-volume drone production, testing and sustainment.
In this video, Defense Updates analyzes how US Army’s plans to field 1 million drones using SkyFoundry program ?
