Russia’s experimental nuclear-powered cruise missile, the 9M730 Burevestnik, is once again making headlines.
Buzz in Moscow suggests the missile recently completed a long-duration flight powered by a compact nuclear reactor. On October 21, President Vladimir Putin was reportedly briefed that a Burevestnik had flown for 15 hours, covering about 14,000 kilometers (8,700 miles) using its onboard reactor.
However, there has been no independent verification—such as satellite imagery or international monitoring—to confirm that the test actually took place.
In this video, Defense Updates explains why the West should be concerned about Russia’s Burevestnik missile ?
