The U.S. Navy’s Fiscal Year 2026 shipbuilding plan calls for the procurement of six new vessels, including two Virginia-class nuclear-powered fast attack submarines. These submarines—anticipated to be named USS Potomac and USS Norfolk—will initiate production of Block VI. Their delivery is projected for the mid-2030s.
