Richard Browning gained a reputation as the ‘real-life Iron Man’, thanks to his futuristic jet suit.
Now the British engineer’s suit has landed him contracts with foreign militaries.
He stated, ”‘Special forces mobility is now where we are generating success. We are in the process of signing several deals with two Western allies, in particular for marine mobility, enabling special forces to rapidly secure maritime targets.”
Browning’s futuristic jet suit uses five gas turbines to reach heights of up to 20 feet (six meters) , reach speed of up to 85 mph or about 135 kph and has a total flight time of up to 10 minutes.
It can allow armed commandos to swiftly move over warzones and land on ships.
British Royal Navy marines have already been using the jet packs to jump from boat to boat in the English Channel to prepare for future boarding operations.
Gravity Industries founded by Browning, which employs 25 people, recently raised $10 million in funding after being valued at $72 million – up from $36 million two years ago.
