Former US President Donald Trump is said to have scored a victory in the battleground state of North Carolina with nearly 90% of the vote counted, according to the Associated Press.
According to the outlet, when Trump was declared the winner in North Carolina, he was leading by more than 130,000 votes.
The win brings Trump closer to the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the election, as early results suggest he is on track to beat Democratic rival Kamala Harris.
