Military facilities where aircraft and missiles are produced and repaired have also been struck, the ministry in Moscow reported

Russia’s Armed Forces have carried out a massive strike on a number of targets across Ukraine, including energy and defense-industry facilities, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported on Monday.

In a regular update posted on its Telegram channel, the ministry stated that the facilities were destroyed using long-range high-precision weaponry as well as kamikaze drones. The targeted buildings were being used for the production and repair of aircraft and missile weapons, Moscow said.

The Russian military also targeted UAV assembly and storage sites as well as temporary deployment points for “nationalist formations and foreign mercenaries,” the ministry reported, stating that all the designated facilities had been hit.

In addition, the ministry stated that Russian forces had struck, using tactical aviation, drones, missiles and artillery, various concentrations of enemy forces and military equipment in 143 districts.

The barrage comes after reports that Ukraine had launched a large-scale drone attack on Russian territory over the weekend. The Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that a total of 158 UAVs had been shot down or intercepted by electronic warfare over more than a dozen Russian regions, including near Moscow.

Late last month, Moscow also reported conducting a series of long-range strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities said to be supporting Kiev’s military industry. The attack caused widespread power outages across the country and was described by Kiev as one of the most extensive barrages on its energy infrastructure since the start of the conflict.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmigal stated that the barrage affected a total of 15 regions while Energy Minister German Galuschenko described the energy situation in the country following the attack as “difficult.”
