The event will welcome women leaders from 120 countries in St Petersburg next month

Russia will welcome women leaders from around the globe at the fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum 2024 (EAWF), taking place in St Petersburg from September 18 to 20.

The event seeks to build trust and strengthen global cooperation, according to the forum’s official website.

The official program, released on Thursday, includes more than 100 events that cover a wide range of issues concerning women.

“We are expecting more than 2,000 guests from 120 countries. I am sure that their work will be fruitful…” said Galina Karelova, Chairman of the Council of the EAWF.

The EAWF’s business program includes five thematic platforms, dedicated to women’s participation in global affairs.

Russia’s chairmanship of BRICS this year will be reflected in the forum’s program, bringing up issues of expanding international cooperation among the group’s member countries.

The BRICS Women’s Forum will be held for the first time within the framework of the event, with a wide range of issues planned for discussion. A meeting of the BRICS ministers for women’s affairs will also take place during the forum.

“The program is very rich. In addition to various formats of discussions, signing business agreements, several exhibitions, festivals, marathons and other events are planned,” according to Karelova.

“I am confident that [EAWF] will once again prove its status as the most important international platform where decisions that are significant for the world are developed, where openness, sincerity and tolerance are welcomed,” Karelova concluded.
